Were the Glee writers high when they wrote the S3 finale?

Having a 0.0 GPA your Senior year means you did absolutely nothing in your 4 years of HS. Brittany would have literally failed every class she’s ever taken and not be able to graduate any of them. She would’ve not be able to be in the Cheerios, be Senior Class president and in several clubs. And be kicked out of high school. She would be starting her fifth freshman year.

But Brittany graduated every  year - and in Junior year she wasn’t even on the Cheerios. How did she even pass 3 years of school and magically fail everything her Senior year?

And most importantly, what are the Glee writers smoking?

pastelxprincess:

This is all the Brittana dialogue up until 3.21 (will update after finale).

When the clips without dialogue are removed, run time = 5 minutes 20 seconds

For comparison, Finn and Rachel spoke to each other for 6 minutes in one episode alone (3.05 - The First Time) and Kurt and Blaine spoke for about 6 and a half minutes in the same episode.

I think it’s fair to say that no matter what we are given in the season finale, we have been well and truly screwed over in this department this season.

fabfemmeboy: Why Klaine Kisses Matter

fabfemmeboy:

I’ve been having a bad day.

It’s not because my boss is driving me crazy - though he’s always a likely culprit - and it’s not just because the writer’s block I’ve been trying to shake all month still hasn’t lifted. Those things are annoying, but they don’t have quite the same day-ruining effect…

“Two pretty cheerleaders expressing that same elation with a kiss of their own has stopped being quite so titilating to viewers ”

Excuse me? I completely understand how it hurts to be treated like a second class citizen, but I also understand what it’s like to be treated like a second class gay - because that’s what lesbians are to the world and on Glee.

Are Klaine treated equally to straight couples on Glee? No. And that’s bullcrap and it’s hurtful and it’s simply unjust.

But do not - I repeat - do not ever come forward and say that lesbians have it in any capacity easier than gays; that our wars are won; that we don’t face the same old prejudice we did back in 1993 when that one episode of Picket Fences aired, which featured a girl on girl kiss and, of course, it was a rating stunt.

Yes, we had that two second kiss and I absolutely see how important that it. But it is especially important, considering we had to wait three fucking years for a first kiss. We didn’t get a storyline- unlike Kurt. We were simply told that Santana came out to her parents and then there was Finn telling Santana she’s a coward for staying in the closet, then blackmailing her, then introducing her to the concept of suicide while refering to this one time they had straight sex together. We had to sit through I Kissed A Girl. We were beaten down so often and just like in real life we were constantly told that we don’t have a reason to be upset. We don’t have a right to exist. Because Santana is not really gay, because she slept with Puck and Finn. And Brittany is not really gay or bisexual, she’s just overly sexual. This week was the first time Santana said out loud that she’s gay. Brittany up until now has not declared her sexuality. And yes, for women that’s called progressive. Because apparently we’re all sexually fluid. Labels are for men.

We had a sex tape that they put in the promo and whilst Chris Colfer got an Emmy for his acting Naya Rivera gets awards for being hot.

Yes, Klaine kisses matter. But I believe you can say that without shitting on us lesbians like the average condescening gay guy. And yes, sorry, to break it to you, but sexism within the gay community is very much alive and it doesn’t work to women’s advantage.

"Glee was easy to love, at first. It was funny. It was dramatic. They sang songs we liked. And it was fresh and new. And then it became popular. Perhaps too popular. Album collections were produced at what seemed like a weekly pace. The cast went on a concert tour. That tour became a 3-D movie spectacular. A spin-off reality series gave contestants a chance to guest star on the series. Glee was everywhere! And we were on Glee overload. Of course, this wouldn’t have been a problem (or at least not a problem we couldn’t have overcome) if the series at the heart of the hype remained strong and/or got better. But it didn’t. What was once fresh and new became old and stale… and it’s only three seasons in. So what happened? […] Well, it turned out that Glee didn’t really have a story to tell. How often can we get wrapped up in whether or not New Directions places at Regionals and gets to Nationals? It’s a fine season long goal, but it’s not something you can really keep coming back for. Certainly, the writers know this, which is why there’s plenty more going on at McKinley. There’s on-again/off-again relationships and… off-again/on-again relationships. Who’s dating who? Who’s marrying who? Who’s having whose baby? Over and over and over. Again, this could be fine material. There’s plenty of great television that thrived on dating, sex and scandal. But Glee just seems to be rehashing and stumbling over their own stories and characters. […] It’s also hard to stick with a series when characters you’re invested in are a different person every week. In the past year or so, Quinn has covered being a chain-smoking punk, a vindictive birth mother, a born again Christian, a judgmental best friend, a future Harvard-attending goodie-goodie and a struggling paraplegic. She changes her personality nearly every episode, so that she can (awkwardly) fit into any conflict the writers want to put her into, even if it doesn’t match what came before. […] Simply put, Glee became a struggle to watch. The song performances became trying, the characters remained annoying, the repetitive plots kept repeating. The viewers left the series, the readers left the reviews."

Holy shit, I just got tweeted by Brad Falchuk.  He replied to this long-ass rant -

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 One year ago today, thanks to Glee, I finally came out to my family. At that time I had absolute faith…

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 …that Santana’s SL wld continue to be written in a powerful, inspiring, & most of all responsible manner.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 But Season 3 has now proven to me (and many, many others) that this faith was entirely misplaced.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 And I’m not sure u even now understand how dangerously you mishandled it, & the implications it could have.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 I along w/ so many fans had such high hopes when this season began; it’s painful to think of now.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 Naya deserved better, Santana deserved better,& most of all, the girls affected by this SL deserved better.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk@AliAdler@mhodgson207 I’ll always be thankful to Glee for changing my life, but what you’ve done this season is unforgivable.

And this is what he said -

BradFalchuk ‏ @BFalchuk
@Cora709 impressed by what you did a year ago. Proud to be a small part of it. You change the world with your courage. We just make tv.

(ETA:) My reply to his reply -

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk Thank you, but you DON’T just make TV. Whether you wanted the responsibility or not, this show influences people’s lives.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk & I truly, truly hope you realize why Santana’s story disappointed so many of us. I can only hope it’ll still be fixed, somehow.

CoraJane ‏ @Cora709
@BFalchuk But thank u so much for replying. Being able to access the writers, even just through Twitter, means a lot to the fandom.

This is so weird.

So if it’s just a TV show, why do we have to be subjected to weekly PSAs? Every single cast member and show runner tells us that Glee saves lives and it’s groundbreaking, you make a whole movie about that, you give us lessons every week, and now “you just make TV”?

Oh, Brad. You would have never said this last year.

Will Brittany ever graduate? (x)

This actually happened…

flawlessvictoryisflawless:

Straight Girl: I don’t understand why gay people are so hard on Finn for helping Santana come out.

Me: You’re not serious are you? He dragged her out of the closet kicking and screaming. That’s not help.

Straight Girl: But some gay people need to be pulled out. It helps them so they don’t have to stay in the closet. She and Brittany can be together now.The gay community just took it wrong.

Me:…because you know so much about the gay community.

Straight Girl: Well I do ship klaine and Finn has a gay brother so he knows what he’s doing.

Proof to anyone that say’s Glee isn’t sending out harmful messages.

Having practically every female character’s storylines revolve around their relationships/men/love triangles and/or mooning over a certain guy

(Source: fuckyougleemoments)

"Historically, gay men and lesbians have faced different types of oppression. The gay men have been treated as freaks and abnormal. When raids occurred in gay bars, it was usually men who were arrested. More gay men than lesbians have been assaulted for being who they were. The lesbians were culturally erased, thought not to exist or treated as sexual objects. An example of this dichotomy would be the characters on Glee. Kurt is very stereotypically gay and faces much more harassment than Santana. When Santana is outed, a few songs fix the problem and she moves on with her life. When Karofsky is outed, he attempts suicide from all of the bullying he faces. Kurt got several episodes on coming out, while Santana is lucky to get a few snatches here and there."
